Dr. AlBawardy is a consultant gastroenterologist and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) specialist. He is an adjunct assistant professor of medicine at Yale University School of Medicine in Connecticut, USA and Alfaisal University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

After completing medical school at the George Washington University in Washington DC, Dr. AlBawardy spent 7 years at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota, USA where he completed an internal medicine residency, gastroenterology fellowship and IBD fellowship. During his time at Mayo Clinic, Dr. AlBawardy received multiple awards and was promoted to instructor of medicine. 

He was on faculty at Yale University as an assistant professor of medicine for 5 years where he developed and lead the Yale IBD Fellowship Program. Dr. Albawardy has an interest in clinical research, has authored multiple publications and serves as an associate editor and is on the editorial boards of multiple gastroenterology journals.
