Brief Profile

Dr. Abdulaziz Alathel is a Consultant and an Assistant Professor of Urology, Endourology, Robotic and minimally invasive Surgery. He began his education at King Saud University's College of Medicine, where he earned a degree with honors. He subsequently joined the Saudi Board of Urology at King Abdulaziz Medical City -Ministry of National Guard, where he successfully completed his training and received recognition as the best resident with distinctive performance. Additionally, he held the position of chief resident at his training facility and for the entire central region under the auspices of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.(SCFHS). After that, he joined the University of Western Ontario (Canada) where he did a two year fellowship in Endourology, Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery, where he was awarded 2nd best research from the Society of Endourology during his time as a fellow.

 

Dr. Alathel has been appointed by King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences -National Guard Hospital as an Assistant Professor of Urology in the College of Medicine. He takes an active role in educating and instructing medical trainees. His numerous papers in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals and numerous presentations at national and international conferences demonstrate his active involvement in medical research in the areas of urology and medical education. He is an active member in the American Urology Association (AUA), The European Association of Urology (EAU) and the Saudi Urological Association (SUA).

Dr. Alathel treats a wide variety of urological conditions and has an additional specialized training in Minimally invasive surgery and Robotic surgery as well as a personal interest in treating urinary stones in both medical and surgical methods.

He currently occupies multiple positions in different organizations such as, Specialized clinics director, Deputy program director for the urology residency training program at the National Guard Hospital. He is also an active member of the SCFHS Urology exam committee.
