Dr. Basim Alsaywid has 12 years of experience in general pediatric urology, reconstructive pediatric urology, and pediatric end-urology.
Since 2012, Dr. Alsaywid has been a consultant Pediatric Urologist at King Abdulaziz Medical City at the Ministry of National Guard in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he has been solely responsible for covering the service for almost 10 years. His reputation for excellence has led to referrals of complex cases from all corners of Saudi Arabia, including the Western, Northern and Southern regions.
Not only is Dr. Alsaywid a skilled surgeon, he is also a dedicated educator. During his service at the National Guard Hospital in Jeddah, he served as the Director for Training of the Urology program for 6 years. He was also appointed as the Chairman of the Research Committee at KSAU-HS, Jeddah, and was the founding and head of the research office at the College of Medicine and the College of Applied Medical Sciences at the same institution.
Dr Alsaywid was the founding and the head of Research and Development Department at Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, from 2019 to 2021. Currently he is the Director of Education and Research Skills, at Saudi National Institute of Health since 2021 until current.
In addition to his impressive work at medical institutions in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Alsaywid has also contributed to humanitarian efforts around the world. He has volunteered with the King Salman for Humanitarian and Relief Center as a lead Pediatric Urology Surgeon in Yemen and other African countries, performing a wide range of complex reconstructive procedures under severely limited resources.
