Dr. Rani Abu Khuzam, MD, EMHCL is a graduate of the American University of Beirut (AUB) Medical School. He received his Internal Medicine residency training at the American University of Beirut - Medical Center (AUBMC) in 2010 followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at AUBMC in 2013 where he also received the Fellow of the Year award in 2012.
Dr. Rani Abu Khuzam has been practicing as a Pulmonary and Intensive Care consultant physician since 2013 caring for critically ill patients in addition to practicing outpatient and in-patient pulmonary medicine at Ain Wazein Medical Village (AWMV), a 170-bed tertiary teaching hospital. Dr. Abu Khuzam was also a lecturer in the Lebanese University Medical School involved in the teaching and training of medical students, internal medicine residents and pulmonary/critical care fellows, and was also appointed as a Clinical Associate in the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUB-MC). He has also been involved in clinical research with publications in international peer-reviewed journals. In 2016 Dr. Abu Khuzam was appointed Head of the Intensive Care Unit at AUB Medical Center.
Dr. Abu Khuzam’s clinical interests are in the care of adult patients with Interstitial Lung Disease/Fibrosis, Asthma, COPD, pleural diseases, lung ultrasonography, bronchoscopic endobronchial ultrasonography (EBUS-FNA), critical care hemodynamics and fluid management.
