BRIEF PROFILE :

Dr. Shamsia Al Shareef is a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist with an experience of over 25 years . She is both Saudi board and Arab board certified .

Dr Shamsia had started her career working in King Saud Medical city which is both a tertiary center and a teaching hospital , where she had initial brief training as a senior house officer in surgery , urology and pediatrics before starting her career in obstetrics and gynecology .

Dr Al Shareef had participated in several lectures and courses held for primary care physicians and also in teaching and training the Saudi and Arab board candidates . She was also a member of perinatal morbidity and mortality for about 4 years and had done few rotations in maternal ICU managing the high risk cases . She also worked briefly in perinatology unit in king Faisal specialist hospital and assisted in many cases of chorionic villus sampling , amniocentesis and fetal blood transfusions etc.

When she joined the private sectors, she worked in kingdom hospital initially as full time for 4 years , and has been working for the past several years in Avenue Medical center in collaboration with kingdom hospital as a privilege physician . She was also the Director of the management of information and Medical records (MOI/MR ) for 3 years .

She had also worked as a privilege consultant in various hospitals such as, Saudi British hospital , Sulaiman Habib hospital and Dallah hospitals.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Surgery from King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia .
• Internship and senior house officer rotations at security forces hospital , King Khalid University hospital and King Saud Medical City hospital .
• Saudi board in obstetrics and gynecology (SSCOG)
• Arab Board in obstetrics and gynecology ( ABOG)
