Dr. Tariq Alzahem is a consultant and ophthalmic surgeon who graduated from the College of Medicine at King Saud University with First Class Honours. During his undergraduate education, Dr. Alzahem has received several awards, including the Ideal Student Prize at the level of the College of Medicine and then at the level of King Saud University. He was also recognized for his volunteer work and was awarded the King Saud University Golden Medal for his achievements.
After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Alzahem joined the Ophthalmology Residency Program at King Saud University Medical City. During his training, he received The Resident of The Year Award for three consecutive years, after which he was granted the King Saud University and the Saudi Boards of Ophthalmology. Dr.Alzahem was also active in academic aspects, including teaching, scientific publications, and scientific presentations in local and international conferences. Later, he completed his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH).
Currently, Dr.Alzahem holds a consultant position in the Ophthalmology Department at King Saud University. In this role, he manages of a variety of ophthalmic conditions including cataracts, medical retina diseases, and vitreoretinal surgical conditions. He is also involved in training residents and fellows in Ophthalmology andretina training programs. Dr. Alzahem is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS), European Society of Retina Specialists (Euretina),and the Saudi Ophthalmological Society (SOS).
